BASIC INFORMATION FOR CUTTING
Material Qualities Bi-Metal, Cobalt 8% (HSS M42)
- Bi-Metal blade with 8% cobalt. With premium Matrix II steel cutting teeth (with 8% cobalt content), the ultimate in performance and lifetime
- Bi-Metal blades consist of a hardened high speed steel cutting edge electron-beam welded onto a flexible alloy steel back
- Bi-Metal blades are tougher, flexible reducing breakages, faster cutting and last longer than conventional carbon and all high speed steel blades
- Those blades with cobalt have even harder teeth and offer double the lifetime in metal cutting applications and five times the lifetime over conventional high carbon steel blades
Tooth Geometry
To attain the correct blade
length, it is necessary to take the width of material to be cut and add an
extra 80 mm. Selecting the correct tooth pitch for the material being cut
is dependent on the thickness of the material being cut, this is extremely important
when cutting metals to ensure the blade is used to its optimum
performance. The golden rule is to have three teeth in contact with the
material being cut at all times. When cutting wood the higher the tooth
per inch the smoother and more fine the cut will be
Cut Cool - Cut Faster - Cut Longer
To ensure longer life, it is recommended to use a cooling lubricant, which can result in extending the life of the saw blade by up to 500 %
