BASIC INFORMATION FOR CUTTING
Material Qualities Bi-Metal
T-Shank Blades
Technical Tips
Cut Cool - Cut Faster - Cut Longer
Material Qualities Bi-Metal
- Bi-Metal consist of high speed steel teeth electron beam welded onto a flexible alloy steel back. These blades offer a maximum performance in the most demanding applications in both wood and metal
- Flexible and shatter resistant
- Longer life time. Metal cutting blades offer double the lifetime and wood cutting blades more than 5 times the lifetime over conventional HCS and HSS Blades
- High wear rate and heat resistance ensure the teeth stay sharp longer
- Faster cutting performance
T-Shank Blades
Suitable for most major brands such as AEG, Bosch, DeWalt, Hitachi, Makita, Metabo, Milwaukee, Ryobi
Technical Tips
- The blade length represents the section of the blade with cutting teeth (A - mm). The tooth pitch is measured in millimeters (mm) from tooth point to tooth point (B - mm)
- Selecting the correct tooth pitch is dependent on the thickness of material being cut. The golden rule is to have three teeth in contact with the material being cut at all times
- Thick material such as metals over 4 mm thickness a tooth pitch of 2 mm or more is recommended
- For metals with a thickness of 1.5 - 3.5 mm a tooth pitch of 1.2 to 1.4 is desirable
- When cutting thin metal sheet material below 1.5 mm a tooth pitch of 0.7 to 1.2 mm is recommended
- The general rule when cutting wood is the higher the tooth pitch the faster and rougher / coarser the cut will be
- When cutting extremely thin sheet material it is recommended to place the material onto a thicker backing to prevent the sheet material from breaking
- We recommend the use of a cooling lubricant to extend the life of the saw blade when cutting metals and plastics
Cut Cool - Cut Faster - Cut Longer
To
ensure longer life, it is recommended to use a cooling lubricant, which
can result in extending the life of the saw blade by up to 500 %
FEATURES
- Blade body has a diagonally sharpened side set teeth
- Resulted a very clear splinter free cut
-
Most traditional blades are also capable of cutting aluminum however these two blades benefit from a larger tooth pitch and wider gullets for better material removal which is an advantage when cutting aluminum
